37th Italian Technical Foundry Congress: call for papers
22/03/2024

Anyone who wants to participate as speaker is invited to submit a paper by May 31st

The traditional appointment with the Italian Foundry Congress, now in its 37th edition, is renewed again this year.

Given the great success of the last edition, also this year the Technical Sessions will be held online via Zoom.

The Technical Sessions will be dedicated to both ferrous and non-ferrous foundries and will be aimed at updating technicians on the innovations in the field of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, regarding:

  • innovative alloys for foundry castings (ferrous and non-ferrous) able to improve their performance and increase their application sectors.
  • design of cast components to replace equivalent products with other technologies.
  • new tools for the design of casting systems, models, moulds, etc.
  • new technical/plant solutions for the improvement of the foundry production process (productivity, quality, energy consumption, environmental impact, health and safety, etc.)
  • general issues (improvement of energy management, environmental impact, health and safety in the workplace, etc.).

Anyone who wants to share her/his innovative projects with colleagues is invited to submit a paper. A title and an abstract of about 300 words must be sent to Roberto Lanzani (r.lanzani@assofond.it) by May 31st, while the full paper must be sent at the same address by September, 30th.

During the Technical Congress, Assofond will reward the winners of the Graduation Awards that the Association will assign to five new graduates (M.Sc.) who recently included in their final dissertation (discussed between October 2022 and September 2024) at least one of the following topics:

  • innovations in the field of ferrous and non-ferrous foundry (metallurgy, plant engineering, design, simulation, environmental and energy sustainability...)
  • projects, analysis, and studies related to environmental and social sustainability, training levers, culture and organizational climate in foundries.
