In Italy Assofond is a member association of the General Conferation of Italian Industry and, at international level, is a member of the European Foundry Association (CAEF) and of the World Foundry Organization (WFO).

The General Confederation of Italian Industry, commonly known as Confindustria, is the Italian employers' federation and national chamber of commerce, founded in 1910. It groups together more than 150,000 voluntary member companies, accounting for nearly 5,500,000 individuals. It aims to help Italy's economic growth, assisting, in doing so, its members. It is a member of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE).

CAEF — the European Foundry Association — is the alliance of 23 national foundry associations from 22 European countries. The European Foundry Association was established in 1953 and thus belongs to the pioneers of the European unification process. The General Secretariat has been situated in Düsseldorf since 1997.
It is the statutory mission of CAEF to look into any and all questions that are of importance to the foundry industry, be they economic, technical, legal, or social. CAEF undertakes activities which aim to develop national foundry industries and co-ordinate their shared international interests.

The World Foundry Organization (WFO) is the recognised centre of strategic foundry knowledge, designed to develop, enhance and improve the production of metal castings; through the latest technical and sustainable industry practices. Through the involvement of the member associations, in 30 countries the WFO creates a network of technical knowledge and resource that is a vital tool to every foundry association, foundry and foundry worker throughout the world.
